AGAR FOR SELECTIVE/DIFFERENTIAL CULTURE MEDIA
A selective culture medium is one that favors the growth of the micro-organisms of interest while inhibits the growth of others. A differential culture medium is one that allows to differentiate one microorganism from another within the same culture, showing metabolic differences between them through changes in color and appearance. At Roko we have specially designed agar types to favor the growth and isolation of the strains of interest in different media, as well as their rapid identification by means of specific biochemical reactions.
