It is a polysaccharide obtained from the gummy exudate of some varieties of Acacia, mainly Acacia Seyal and Acacia Senegal.

HOW IS IT OBTAINED?

The exudate obtained is dissolved to eliminate impurities and filtered. It is then heat-treated and spray-dried.

WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

It is used in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products due to its film-forming and emulsifying properties.

WHERE IS IT USED?

In food, mainly in confectionery to make coatings, in beverages to stabilise foam and in flavourings to emulsify the phases. It is also used as an excipient in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
